What consoles have information and games lists currently on Retro Game Guide?
Currently the site has information an lists on the following consoles:
What consoles are you planning on adding to the site?
We are planning on covers as many retro game systems as possible. We'll be adding the systems in chunks as current systems get a decent amount of summaries entered, all the way up to the PS1.
The following systems will be added eventually
Then we'll focus on handhelds!
And finally the "newer" retro consoles.
If there's another specific console you think should be added feel free to contact us.
Does Retro Game Guide list import titles?
Currently there are no plans to add support for import titles. Just getting the North America content up is a very time consuming task. Once we have gone through that we'll consider adding import titles to the system.
We may add import titles that have become available in North America through download services like Wii Virtual Console however.
Where do you get your game videos?
All videos are captured from game play at 480i resolution. Because of the sheer amount of videos we're going through we use whatever hardware we have handy to do this including the original consoles, clone consoles, Wii virtual console, and games re-released on collections/anthologies. Because of this video quality varies and may not be 100% true to the original. However, we do attempt to use official hardware as much as possible.
What new features are coming to the site?
Check the changelog. It lists all upcoming features, and when previous features have been completed.
How can I help out?
Retro Game Guide is always looking for help. We always need writers for new articles, game summaries, and to keep the sites news updated. I'll find some way to saying thanks to our top contributors, probably in the form of free retro games and/or gift certificates. If you're interested use the contact us form and let us know.
