Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade Game

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Arcade Game is the second NES TMNT game. Instead of being an original developed title like the first game, this game is a port of the 4 player arcade beat 'em up title. The game is also based on the cartoon series and follows a graphical style much closer to the cartoon than the original game/comic.

In the game the turtles must battle through the stages in order to save April and Splinter from the foot clan and defeat many bosses from the TV series including  Bebop, Rocksteady, Baxter Stockman, Lieutenant Granitor, General Traag, Krang, and Shredder.

The game features a 2 player co-op mode in which each player can choose a turtle and play through the game simultaneously.

The game also features 2 additional stages and original bosses not found in the arcade version making for a total of 8 stages in the game. The first is a snow covered city level in which the turtles must defeat Tora, a mutant snow wolf and his climate changing machine and the second is a samurai fortress in which they must defeat the cyborg  Shogun Warrior.

The original arcade game was also re-released for Xbox Live Arcade and as an unlockable on the PS2/Xbox/Gamecube game TMNT 2 Battle Nexus. This game is followed up by another NES sequel TMNT 3: The Manhattan Project.
