Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!

Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! is a port of the arcade games Punch-Out! and Super Punch-Out! Several changes were made from the arcade version which included making the boxer a viewable avatar on screen instead of a wireframe body. The player was called Little Mac, a play on McDonald's popular Big Mac burger. The NES version also featured background music during the fights, cut scenes that describe the basic plot of Mac's rise through the ranks, and a password system so the player could continue.

The game featured several circuits that Mac would fight his way though. Each circuit contained 3 fights and the player progressed towards the title bout against Mike Tyson.

Little Mac could block, dodge left/right, punch left/right, uppercut left/right, and use a special attack when he's earned a star. The game is less of a real boxing game and more about memorizing your opponents attack patterns and reacting in the proper ways. There's usually a trick to defeating each boxer and most of the boxers attacks have to be blocked a specific way. Mac can win by knocking the opponent down so many times that they can't get up before the count of 10, or earning a TKO by knocking down an opponent 3 times during a round. Mac can lose in the same ways. In between rounds some health is restored and Mac's coach will give some tips.

After Nintendo's license to use Mike Tyson in the game expired, the game was renamed to Punch Out!! and released again with Mike Tyson replaced by Mr. Dream as the final boss.

An unofficial sequel to Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! was released under the title Power Punch 2 after Nintendo refused to publish the game.
