Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster Busts Loose is the first SNES title in Konami's Tiny Toon Adventures series. The game is based on the Warner Bros. cartoon, which is a successor to the classic Loony Toons series.
The game is a platforming title in which the player controls Buster Bunny and plays through several different stages. Each stage has its own story. Along the way, Buster will encounter many friends and enemies from the series.
Buster can jump and attack enemies with jumps. Dashing allows him to run along walls to reach higher areas. Pickups can refill the dash gauge for longer dashes. Other pickups can destroy all enemies on the screen.
The game features 6 stages including: ACME Looniversity, The Western Movie, Spook Mansion, ACME Looniversity Football, Buster Sky-Jinks, and Space Opera. Each stage has a different setting and a slightly different objective. While the goal is always to get to the end, the theme of the level can influence how the player must get through the stage.
The game features 3 difficulty levels. Easy mode shortens the stages, while hard mode has Buster start each level with only one health heart instead of 3. Buster can pick up health increases, which can increase his life twice.
The game also features 5 bonus “wheel o’ game” stages; each is a different mini game in which the player can earn extra lives.
Games include:
Sweetie Pie: Mystery Weight Challenge, in which the player must choose characters that weigh more than the characters the opposition has chosen. The match lasts for 5 rounds and throughout the rounds, the player can only use each character once.
Hamton J. Pig: Hungry Boy Hamton, in which the player uses a hole in the ground to create a path for Hamton to follow. He will collect apples along the path. For each apple collected, the player gets an extra life. This game is timed.
Plucky Duck: Plucky Duck's Go-Go Bingo, is a bingo game in which the player gets a bingo card featuring multiple pictures of 10 different Tiny Toons characters. When a line is completed, the player will win an extra life. The amount of balls Plucky will call depends on the difficulty.
Furrball: Furrball's Championship Squash, in which the player plays a game of squash which speeds up with each hit. The ball must be hit 15 times in a row for the player to win an extra life. The player can also hit characters who randomly run up against the wall for bonuses.
Babs Bunny: Babs, find your friends! is a Pac-Man like game where Babs Bunny has infiltrated Elmyra's house and must free her friends who are trapped behind locked doors. Babs must avoid Elmyra, who chases her, and save everyone before the time runs out.
A password system allows players to continue from the furthest level they've completed.
