Town & Country Surf Designs (NES)

Town & Country Surf Designs: Wood & Water Rage is a NES sports game developed and published by LJN. The game features skateboarding and surfing events including Street Skate Session, Big Wave Encounter, Wood and Water Rage. The game is set in Hawaii.

Street Skate Session is the skateboard part of the game and has the player maneuver through an obstacle course. The player will lose time and lives for falling into holes or hitting obstacles. Each round becomes harder as the player starts with less lives, time and the courses get harder.

Big Wave Encounter is the surfing part where the player has to ride a wave as long as possible. The player can preform tricks in order to collect points. There's no time limit in this mode. The player will lose a life for falling off the board by hitting objects floating in the water or crashing into waves. The round continues until the player loses all his lives or reaches the pier.

The game name comes from the world famous surfboard manufacturer, Town & Country Surf Designs, and is based around the company's mascot characters, known as "Da Boys".

The Wood and Water Rage mode alternates between Street Skate Sessions and Big Wave Encounter rounds.

Playable characters include: Joe Cool, Tiki Man, Kool Kat, and Thrilla Gorilla.

Town & Country Surf Designs: Wood & Water Rage is followed up with the NES title Town & Country II: Thrilla's Surfari
