Mario's Time Machine

Mario's Time Machine is an educational video game staring Mario developed by Software Toolworks. It is similar to the earlier release Mario is Missing and considered to be the sequel to that educational game. This time the focus is on history. It is also a different game than the SNES version of Mario's Time Machine.

In Mario's Time Machine, Bowser has disrupted history by traveling back in time and stealing famous artifacts as well as capturing Mario's friend Yoshi. In order to save the day Mario must break into Bowser's Museum which is guarded by Koopas and return the items to their rightful place in history.

Bowser's museum has 7 rooms with 2 items each which must be completed before entering the 8th room.

Each room is guarded by 3 Koopas which must be defeated like the original Mario Bros game, flipping them over by hitting them from below and then jumping on them. Once the rooms are cleared of Koopas the items will appear.

After collecting an item Mario must jump into the warp tube and choose the correct time period where the item belongs. Once he finds the place for it in that area he can drop it and the item is returned.

Items and time eras include:

Torch (Olympics, 776 BC)
Light Bulb (Thomas Edison, 1879)
Apple (Issac Newton, 1687)
Sledgehammer (Berlin Wall, 1989)
Egg (80,000,000 BC)
Stovepipe Hat (Honest Ave, 1862)
Steering Wheel(Magellan's Ship, 1520)
India Flag (Ghandi, 1947)
Quill Pen (Shakespeare, 1602)
American Flag (Lunar landing module, 1969)
Throne (Pyramid, 31 BC)
Propeller (Airplane, 1903)
Sword (Shrine, 1192)
Physics Equation (Chalkboard, 1905)

After returning all items, the 8th door presents Mario with his final challenge. He must first answer 3 history trivia questions, if he gets them wrong he has to go find all the clues again. Otherwise the game moves onto a boss fight where the player has to jump on Bowser's head 3 times, before saving Yoshi.
