Advanced Dungeons & Dragons: DragonStrike (NES)

DragonStrike is a NES port of the PC title of the same game. It was released in 1992 by SSI and takes place in the Dragonlance realm of the Dungeons and Dragons universe. Unlike most AD&D games which are RPGs DragonStrike is an action game. While the original game played more like a flight simulator, the NES version of game plays as a top down shooter.

The game play involves flying your dragon around a map in order to find and complete objectives. The player can rotate the dragon, fire two different attacks, and change between high and low altitude, lower altitude has obstacles that the player can crash into, but some enemies can only be killed from the lower altitude.

The game gives the player a choice between three different dragons, bronze, silver, and gold. Each dragon has different stats and attacks. The player can increase the dragons health and power up their attacks by collecting items and defeating enemies throughout the game,

The game features 14 missions each with a different set of objectives. Dragon choice will slightly alter the mission objectives and the ending of the game. The game can be played on easy, normal and hard.

RGG Says: An interesting shoot'em up staring dragons set in the AD&D universe.
