Addams Family; The (NES)

The Addams Family game was released by Ocean in 1994 for the NES it came after the SNES and used that version as it's basis. It is a platform game which is based on the movie of the same title which itself based on the classic TV series. The game's characters very closely resemble their movie counterparts.

The NES version of the game uses different graphics and layouts than the original SNES game and is less linear.

The player controls Gomez Addams as he tries to rescue his family, who have all been kidnapped. They are each hidden in a different area of the family mansion, and each area is guarded by various enemies, as well as a final boss.

Gomez can search for his family members in any order. Also, through exploring the mansion he can also discover hidden passageways, secrets, weapons, side levels and mini-bosses. Power-ups can increase Gomez's health.

The game does not have a save option, but instead relies on a password system.

There are two additional Addams Family games that came out on the SNES as well as the original  SNES version of this title. The other titles are Pugsley's Scavenger Hunt and Addams Family Values. Pugsley's Scavenger Hunt was also available for the NES.
