Aero the Acro-Bat 2 is the sequel to the original Aero the Acro-Bat game for Genesis and SNES.
The game takes place after the original, and reveals that Zero managed to save Edgar from death at the end of the first game. Putting their Plan B into action, the two trap Aero and send him far away. Aero must fight his way back to the circus and defeat both Zero and Edgar.
Gameplay remains similar to the previous titles, however the new Boardin Zone world has Aero riding a snowboard through the acts. As before, Aero can throw stars, use a downwards drill attack, and an upwards drill to reach higher platforms.
The game contains several areas split up into acts, including Bell Castle, Boardin Zone, Disco Fever, Dr Dis Industries, Ektors Engine, Fort Redstar, and the Performers Dungeon. The game no longer features objectives that must be met; instead, the goal for each act is to simply find the exit.
A password function allows the player to continue their game from the latest world.
Aero the Acro-Bat 2 is available on Wii Virtual Console and the game is followed up by the spin-off Zero the Kamikaze Squirrel
, which is also for SNES and Genesis.
