Alpha Beam with Ernie (2600)

Alpha Beam With Ernie is an education game staring Sesame Street's Ernie. The game was developed by Atari and Children's Computer Workshop and was released in 1983.

Alpha Beam With Ernie was developed programmed by Michael Callahan and Preston Stuart.

In the game the player must help Ernie pilot a small shuttle by collecting fuel tanks labeled with a letter and return them to his space ship.

When enough fuel is collected Ernie can return to Earth.

The game was marketed as a family-friendly game that could teach children pre-reading skills such as identifying and matching letters. Alpha Beam was compatible with the Atari Kid's Controller, which was sold separately, although the regular keyboard controller was also compatible.
